Model 55 Feather Light Feeler |
After years of frustration working with
various types of edge detection devices Mascoe developed the
Model 55 Feather Light Feeler (FLF) guiding system. In coating
we are constantly working with various types of fabrics with
different thicknesses and constructions. The most common problem
with trying to detect a fabric edge is untucked selvages or fringed
edges. Photoelectric detection devices have a hard time seeing
the true edge of the fabric and will constantly hunt trying to
find one. Other problems occur with translucent or light weight
fabrics.
The Model 55 FLF guider was designed to eliminate these problems
by having a mechanical arm make contact with the true fabric
edge. Once the arm shifts, a fiber optic cable transfers a signal
to an actuator for movement. Another advantage is the ability
to use the units in a wet environment without causing damage.
The Model 55 FLF is a less expensive alternative to conventional
systems and can be retrofitted to existing guiding systems. Please
contact us about your specific needs. |
