The 6SC is a Submerged Roll Coater and it applies coating via a roll that is partially submerged in a pan filled with a coating.  The coating is metered off via a metering blade and then an additional blade provides metering against the fabric.  Doctor rolls provide additional force to the metering blade to control the scrape.
